Purpose Statement:
The Oral Health Awareness Project is organized exclusively for the promotion of social welfare as defined under Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization’s mission is to protect public health by educating the general public on the importance of receiving dental hygiene care from licensed professionals who have graduated from CODA-accredited programs, and to advocate for legislation that upholds professional standards in dental hygiene.
Mission Statement:
To safeguard the oral health of communities by increasing public awareness about the essential role of licensed dental hygienists and by advocating for policies that prevent substandard, non-accredited dental care practices.

1. Public Education
- Develop and distribute Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to raise awareness about the value of licensed RDHs.
- Launch digital and print campaigns explaining what CODA accreditation means and why it matters.
2. Legislative Advocacy
- Monitor and respond to state and national legislation threatening dental hygiene standards.
- Provide resources to hygienists and the public on how to engage with lawmakers.
- Submit formal letters, testimonies, and petitions to government bodies.
3. Coalition Building
- Partner with dental professionals, advocacy organizations, educators, and patient safety groups to amplify our message.
